Information on Anal fissures

DescriptionAnal fissures are cracks that develop in the anal mucosa, often in response to venous stagnation or the over-consumption of irritating or drying foods (for instance excessively salty foods). Poor hygiene and the use of irritating toilet tissue may also play a role.
Treatment PlanHerbal treatments can include venous tonics (witch hazel, horse chestnut), venous stimulants (stone root), anti-inflammatories and soothing herbs (mallow leaves, marshmallow root), antispasmodics (wild yam), stool softening and hydrating herbs (psyllium seed and husk, flax seed, yellow dock, cascara sagrada). The hemorrhoid formula contains several of these herbs.
